Application process
SGA has a limited number of places available, hence we strongly urge parents to apply at their earliest convenience to secure your child’s place. In order to apply to SGA, you can complete an online application form in the application form section of this website. Alternatively, you can download the application form, attached with a proof of identity (passport or birth certificate) and return it to 319 Waterloo Street, Oldham, OL4 1ER.
Following the submission of your application, our administrative team will contact you to book your child for an admissions test. The cost of the admissions test is £30 which must be paid in advance to book the test. Following the results of the test, you and your child will be invited to attend an admissions interview. Here you will meet the Headteacher and have the opportunity to ask any questions and have an open discussion about the future of your child at SGA.
Following the interview, you will receive a formal letter to confirm the outcome of your child’s admission. If successful your child will be invited to the transition day and prospective student programmes to support their transition to secondary school.
School Fee Information
The Annual Fees are currently £3000 for all pupils. Although we encourage parents to settle full fees at the start of the academic year where possible, the updated fees policy outlines that you now have the option to pay in three termly Instalments. Fees must be paid by the following dates:
1st Payment on 15th September (Term 1)
2nd Payment on 15th January (Term 2)
3rd Payment on 25th April (Term 3)
All fees must be paid on time. You will be reminded of the above deadlines. We will also call you if you have missed a payment. However, it is the parent’s responsibility to ensure payments are made on time and any difficulty is communicated with the school. Failure to make payment will result in your child being suspended until outstanding payment is made.
Parents who are experiencing financial difficulties and wish to be placed on a payment plan must contact the admin office to arrange a meeting with the Headteacher. Once any payment plan has been agreed, payments must be made on time. Failure to meet the deadline will result in the payment plan option being terminated and the full outstanding amount being due.

In order to complete the application process, your daughter will be invited for an admissions test, which will be booked once your application has been processed. If you are applying for entry into Year 7 and 8, your daughter will be sitting on online assessment. She will be tested on the following-

Our teaching and learning department has curated a comprehensive and holistic, student-centred approach. With students at the focus of every curriculum, we ensure we provide the highest quality of teaching and intervention to maximise student potential. Our priority is ensuring all students make progress and achieve their potential. Our positive learning strategies allow pupils to take initiative in their learning, seek support and utilise our support systems. Our embedded enrichment programme also provides our students with the opportunities to develop key transferrable and life skills that can be utilised in all subjects, further supporting their learning journeys.

We have robust student support systems developed by our pastoral department, to ensure all students are supported academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. We have developed accessible systems that can be utilised by students and staff, to report any concerns, share their thoughts, and seek any form of support. Our one-to-one counselling system and mentoring programme provides all students with a safe space to communicate their thoughts, feelings and emotions.

Integrated Islamic ethos
We have extensively embedded our Islamic ethos in all aspects of student life at SGA. Students spend their mornings reading and understanding the Holy Quran and developing their Tajweed and recitation skills. Key stage 4 pupils also join Halaqah groups to learn from one another. We have robust Islamic curriculum, that has been carefully curated to ensure all our students are able to develop extensive knowledge of Fiqh, Tahdhib, and the Seerah, with the opportunity to memorise key surahs, and duas. Our Islamic ethos committee addresses all ideas, and opportunities for further spiritual development which is made up of both staff and students. Furthermore, students have the opportunity to develop their understanding of various topics through assemblies and themed weeks such as Seerah Week, Discover Islam Week and Charity Week etc. We also have strict policy promoting the practice of Salah, students will be allocated specific times to ensure they are able to meet the obligation of Salah, and collectively recite Surah Al-Kahf on Fridays.
Enrichment opportunities
At SGA we aim to provide a plethora of opportunities for the social, spiritual, moral and cultural development of our students. Alongside academic excellence we value the personal development of our students, to ensure they achieve the best outcomes in their academic, personal and social life. Our weekly enrichment lessons provide students with opportunities to gain key transferrable and life skills including sewing, cooking, archery, swimming, martial arts, team working organisation skills and much more. Our extensive enrichment programme includes trips, visitors, themed events, assemblies, careers programme, community service, and personal, professional development.
